Who are we?

Welcoming Australia is an independent, non-partisan charitable organisation. Our mission is to cultivate a culture of welcome and advance communities where everyone can belong and participate in social, cultural, economic and civic life.

We place paramount importance on maintaining your trust and take the protection and security of your information very seriously. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and share your data if you use our website and associated platforms, or if you supply information to us. Why do we need your data?

  • To communicate with you about updates and opportunities. We may send you emails and contact you to help you get the most out Welcoming Cities’ work (only with your permission)

  • To promote our work. For example, you might provide us with a case study, testimonial, research, an article or other information you want to share.

What data do we collect?

  • Information that you supply to us. This is usually via our contact form, website comments, email, or phone.

We take every care to ensure that your personal data is kept secure and to protect your data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The security measures we take include only storing your personal data on secure servers, ensuring that our staff receive regular data security awareness training, and keeping paper records to a minimum.

What happens if something goes wrong?

While we use all reasonable endeavours to protect your personal data, internet security can never by 100% guaranteed. In the unlikely incidence of a data breach, we will communicate with anyone possibly affected. We will support you to identify what’s been breached, contact data protection authorities and communicate with any other relevant parties about the breach.

What if you don’t agree with our policy?

We won’t collect any information unless you contact us and/or you want to access parts of our service that require it. If you don’t agree with this policy, it’s best not to give us your personal information.
